HA! Before anyone get’s their panties in a twist over that one please know I am a Leo Venus and my statement was admittedly biased and my Venus is standing proudly behind it even if she is being egotistical and inciting possible drama.
I love my Leo Venus. My chart has a lot of serious..serious..serious and even Venus does not entirely escape the serious nature of my chart with a square to Saturn. And yet, she also has lovely aspects with Mercury, Jupiter, Uranus, Chiron and Midheaven. I’m approaching my Venus Return and am feeling wonderfully divine and am allowing my Venus to have her time in the Sun.{{happy VR to me!}} 🙂

what a fantastic post!
Made me think “why doesn’t my Venus in Leo have as much fun as this”! Chart full of serious serious that’s why – Venus opposite Saturn, square Neptune, quincunx Chiron … and it’s my ruling planet! It ought to be sexy but it doesn’t often feel like it! She does sextile Mercury in Gemini, so I can express it!
It’s hidden away in my 4th … but it’s conjunct the North Node so any return ties directly into that. I’ve just got to get creative ….!

Ha! Liberate that Venus Jan!..you’re having a 12th return so that should bring you clarity on what continues to keep her in the shadows and likely where you are self-sabotaging. My VR is also a 12th, so maybe I shall be doing the same!

venus in cancer conjunct marsjupiter (1 word because i think of those 2 as a single unit, they are 3′ apart) read: jealous menfolk! omg my venus is straining to get loose. kinda afraid of what might happen when she’s finally unleashed…but also very intrigued (she’s trine neptune and chiron)

my chart laughs at me..literally! I have a whole slew of conjunctions between mid-Virgo(3rd) and early Libra(4th). Sun-IC-SN-POF-Pluto-Uranus-Jupiter-Mercury. A big ‘ole grin on the face of my chart. In my more challenging times I see that and think, “what the hell are you laughing at..there is nothing remotely funny about all of this”..and yet I really do know why the grin is there for me..to remind me that what taunts us is also where we have the biggest opportunities for growth and success. Then I get back to work. 🙂 xxx

Liberate the Venus – Ok – and thanks too for the pointer about the 12th house return and how it can help me work out what’s holding her back. She’s unaspected, too, which I choose to see as a positive thing – she’s unattached, a free agent, she can go anywhere. If I let her.

yeah, with the taunting…so true! but isn’t this simply the crux of the matter? illuminating the shadowy bits?
i got married in my early twenties, mostly so i wouldn’t have to date! as soon as i did get married, everyone & his brother was anxious to tell me they always wanted to ask me out but were either 1. sure i must be seeing someone already; or 2. too chicken…. i’ve known the last too chicken for over 20 years – asked me out but is MARRIED … other side of that coin is “oh! a challenge – i will commence to relentlessly pursue this conquest!”
omg dating is such a nightmare for me i cannot tell you. if i didn’t find the “why chromosome” tribe so utterly compelling i would not even bother. what am i saying? i don’t bother – but total strangers have actually proposed to me. i swear i don’t know what it is, i have even enlisted some guys to try & explain what it is about me, but they have thus far been unable(unwilling? ;O) to ‘fess up.
my venus is currently progressing over pluto/uranus conjunct in virgo in my 12th house… plus the saturn-uranus opp is sitting on top of my uranus-saturn opp … and that natal saturn is conj chiron, square my gemini moon…..which just got transited 5 times by pluto (ya just gotta laugh at that lol!) oh, yeah, that was at the same time as my neptune square (did i mention my (leo)sun sq (scorp)neptune??? it’s all good – purging all the upbringing crap, rinsing out the container and consciously deciding what goes in from now on.

i don’t trust my skills enough yet to pull out everything that’s going on in my chart; i have it read by a local astrologer i happened upon about a decade ago, but she is very practical and much less…well, mystical. i appreciate the grounding and confirmation i get from her reading but haven’t been able to bring her along with me on a more subtle exploration. so tired of squares, oppositions and conjunctions – i’m ready to work with my gorgeous water grand trine!

leah your chart sounds very similar to mine – born 1966? We’re firehorse women, who the ancient Chinese killed because we caused too much trouble. I find guys attracted but usually intimidated by me. Lately its been good ole Scorpios who even have the guts to approach, and to be any kind of match. My Venus in Leo is in the end of the 8th House, and yes, I’m attracted to kink. Had a great time Friday night exploring the fringes,with another Scorpio who walked into my life. I’ll be very happy when Saturn moves into Libra and gets off the conjunction with my natal Moon and opposing my natal Saturn; I feel like a racehorse at the gate, or am I a hungry caged lion waiting to be released?

hi yeshe, yes – 08/12/66 …. SOMEbody’s gotta stir things up, right?! i really identify with the image of firehorse (spirited and uncontrollable) and recognize the patriarchal oppression (i was obviously not physically killed but rather psychically squelched)
attracted but intimidated sums it up. any guy’s gotta have the confidence…cockiness…arrogance to boldly engage me or i quickly lose interest; unfortunately that type is often all about the conquest and once they’ve “won the prize” it’s off to the next challenge…the other extreme seems to think the initial effort is all they should put forth – but also balk at being “bossed around”! that’s where my mercury in leo comes in …
i’m still immersed in the primordial ooze of my chrysalis – what exactly will emerge is anyone’s guess…
