The New Moon @ 13°54 Aquarius occurs on February 2nd, 2011 @ 9:31 pm EST, Feb. 3rd 2:31 am UT.

Independent, visionary and ingenious, Aquarius is co-ruled by Saturn and Uranus and when well functioning is capable of bringing into today’s reality forms that offer a bridge to the future. Though the co-rulers of this sign may seem odd bed-fellows, Saturn provides the perseverance and grounding energy that is necessary to implement into a material world structure the cutting edge insights of Uranus. As the natural 11h sign of the Zodiac, Aquarius also serves the function of aligning like-purposed individuals in order to advance societal development through their collaborated endeavors. The Full Moon @ 29°27 Cancer/Capricorn occurs on January 19th, 2011 at 4:22 pm EST.

A note of interest is that we find the Moon degree of this Full Moon to be the exact-to the-minute degree (29 CAN 27) of the Total Solar Eclipse of July 21st-22nd,  2009. The duration of effect of the July 2009 Solar Eclipse extends through 2012 so it is likely that events stimulated by the July ’09 event will find resonance within this current Full Moon.

This current Cancer lunation is the 4th in a series of 5 consecutive Full Moons that occur on the last degree of their respective signs. A degree of transition, the 29th degree represents the end of the matter in relation to the concerns of said sign and when we arrive at this point it is a time of culminating the wisdom and beneficial works from said sign while eliminating anything that is non-beneficial and cannot be carried forward into the next sign for further development. There are often last minute efforts to bring to culmination matters of said sign and leaps of faith are on occasion taken when one feels a situation is just under the closing bell.

Due to it’s transitional nature this last degree can also be a space of oscillation for when a planet resides in this degree there is a revolving door effect. Gravitating between spaces and feeling as if one is neither able to go back nor forward this oscillation dynamic can be quite stressful if one attempts to find a solution or take an action based upon either/or perceptions. To bridge this transitional space as seamlessly as is possible elimination of either/or thinking, and often the  Surrender to a “Higher Power/Wisdom”,  becomes necessary. Continue Reading »

Toni Frissel's "Lady in the Water"

The New Moon at 13°40′ Scorpio occurs on November 6th, 2010 @ 12:52 am EDT and 4:52 am UT.

This lunation brings the opportunity to begin something anew, or redirect our course, in a manner that allows for Scorpio related themes to operate in the highest form in our lives. Scorpio, a fixed water sign, is the space of regeneration(healing) through elimination. As the eighth sign of the zodiac, Scorpio concerns revolve around shared energy/resources, legacies, sex, intimacy, transformations, death and rebirth. Scorpio is a piercing energy that seeks to go directly to the root of any situation/issue and has little tolerance for half-truths or mind-games.

Healing that takes place within the realm of Scorpio has a deeply invasive quality and is a no-stone left unturned procedure. What lies hidden and rejected, emotional and/or psychological, must be brought to awareness to satisfy Scorpio’s need to purify the organism(individual, familial or societal) through the penetration of the psyche. The Full Moon in Aries on October 22nd @ 9:36 pm EDT, October 23rd @ 1:36 am UT at 29°33 Aries/Libra is the second of two Full Moons to occur consecutively within Aries and therefore is a Blue Moon provided one allows for (and I do!) an alternative qualification of a Blue Moon as being two like lunations occurring within the same zodiac sign consecutively in addition to the widely accepted definition of two like lunations occurring within a single calendar month.

This Full Moon @ 30° Aries begins a series of 5 consecutive Full Moons that occur on the last degree of their respective signs. Seen as a degree of transition, the 29th degree represents the end of the matter in relation to the concerns of said sign. When we arrive at this point it is a time of culminating the wisdom and beneficial works from said sign while eliminating anything that is non-beneficial and cannot be carried forward into the next sign for further development. There are often last minute efforts to “complete” something and occasional leaps of faith when one feels a situation is just under the closing bell. Continue Reading »

The New Moon @ 14°24′ Libra occurs on October 7th, 2010 @ 2:45 pm EDT; 6:45  pm UT.

Libra, as the 7th sign of the natural Zodiac, is the 1st sign that concerns itself with “other”. It is within Libra that we take our first steps in developing harmonic relationships and is the space in which we we seek compatibility through compromise while adjusting our boundaries accordingly to better suit our quest for right relationships.

By the time we have entered into Libra we have journeyed through the first 6 signs, Aries through Virgo, and have sought a greater knowledge of self while developing our individual attributes. The last 6 signs, Libra through Pisces, are the space in which we bring forth our best attributes of self while seeking to enrich our self-understandings through experiences that are external to us. In Libra we develop our comprehension of the “We” principle and eventually expand our comprehension to include the One Self by the time we complete our journey of the Zodiac at the end of Pisces.

With the annual Libra New Moon our focused intentions are upon the development of harmonic relationships and with Saturn in residence in the Sign of Partnerships this year we are urged to focus not only upon harmony yet also upon sustainability. Saturn, exalted within Libra, is challenging us to define our perceptions of right relationship and to align our actions to whatever ideal we find we resonate with. Saturn wants us to ‘walk our talk’ and to do so we must become clear on exactly what it is that our talk is espousing in very real terms and what very real measures are required of us to walk that talk.

Saturn is often referred to as the taskmaster. Our task while Saturn journeys though Libra is to bring our relationships into a proper structure through achieving a balance of two individual energies/entities that allows for the two previously individual energies to function harmonically as a 3rd energy/entity. This balancing and blending of 2 individual energies does not require either party to be sacrificing of their true nature but does require a willingness to allow one’s self and the other(s) to expand into this 3rd energy of union at your/their own pace and in whatever way is healthy and comfortable for you/them. Venus turns retrograde on October 8th, 2010 @ 13°14′ Scorpio, then retraces her path back through Scorpio, reentering Libra on

~Body Artist Emma Hack

November 8th.

Direct station occurs on November 18th @ 27°39′ Libra.

Though the actual retrograde motion phase of Venus lasts approximately 6 weeks the entire span of the retrograde cycle is significantly longer when we account for the pre and post shadow phase also. Venus entered the shadow of pre-retrograde in early September when she crossed 27° Libra. Venus will not exit the retrograde shadow until December 21st when she once again crosses 14° Scorpio in direct motion. As of December 22nd this current Venus Retrograde phase will be complete.

***********

During Venus retrogrades we find ourselves reviewing our relationship with our personal Venusian energies.  Venus as the ruler of Taurus and Libra is concerned with our perceptions of  Self-Worth, of Beauty and of Equality in Relationships. Venus defines what we place Value upon(both material and ethical) and is representative of our capacity to give and receive Love. Our personal Venus energy represents how we go about incorporating and infusing these principles into our daily existence.Venus retrograde periods are not a time that we are overly concerned with outward appearances and are more conducive to meditating upon our relationship to Venus and evaluating how our personal Venus signature is preforming. My daughter Alexandra is celebrating her 19th birthday today. We no longer reside together, so when I shared her gift with her a little early during one of her “pop-in, say hi’s and eat for free’s”, I had not yet purchased a card to go with her gift. She asked me to forgo the card and instead asked for a post that was just hers on her birthday.

So, here you go Ali-Boo…this one is just for you. Continue Reading »

The Autumn Equinox occurs on September 22nd, 2010 @ 11:09pm EDT and on September 23rd @ 3:09am UT when the Sun ingresses Libra.

The next 90 days shall be influenced by the energy tones set upon the Equinox and during this time we shall be fleshing out and further developing our creations that were seeded during the Spring Equinox 6 months prior while also weeding out that which has not come to viable form post Summer Solstice.

Normally, when the Sun enters Libra annually our desire for social interaction is increased and we find ourselves pivoting away from our solo endeavors in favor of the pleasures of shared experiences. It is a time for relaxing and enjoying with others the fruits born of our labors of the previous months. Notice I said “normally”. The Autumn Equinox chart this year is a highly focused chart with the Sun applying to a conjunction with Saturn in Libra, applying to a square with Pluto in Capricorn and in an applying opposition to the Pisces Moon. In addition, we find all planets working in conjunction pairs and this too shall lend intensive direction to this Autumn period. While we do have most planets(except for Mercury) tenanting the natural 7th-12th houses of social and trans-personal interaction, with the fore mentioned aspects, there is a gravity implied that will find our interactions to be more of a serious nature and purpose driven while also being emotionally fueled.

The  Saturn-Uranus opposition series that began in 2008 has come to conclusion and the Cardinal Squares of this past summer are now separating yet we find we are still navigating our way through the fall-out and sifting through the many pieces of our lives that were impacted by these forces that initiated us to deep and long lasting changes.  While these past months may have appeared to be a stalemate in many ways(especially if you had natal placements being influenced by these heavy-duty transits) we were nonetheless seeding and fostering the growth of new creations even as some parts of our lives continued to disintegrate around us. So much shifting was continuously occurring that most days were chaotic at best and others were just downright excruciating. Yet through this all we continued to place precious energy into our new endeavors and have held onto the hopes that at the end of this stormy period we would find within the debris that something(s) we had sowed last Spring had indeed taken root and became a viable life-form. Mercury has now positioned at direct station @ 6° Virgo and Pluto, in a few short hours, will also position at direct station @ 3° Capricorn. For a refresher on what these two retrograde periods were focused upon revisit these previous posts: Mercury Retrograde Virgo 2010 and Pluto Retrograde Capricorn 2010

Mercury will remain within the retrograde shadow until crossing 19° Virgo on September 28th. There may continue to be retrograde related hiccups though I personally felt this retrograde was quite benign. Of course the first few days after direct station are occasionally when Mercury can play the trickster and get in a few late HaHa’s so hopefully I will not be eating my words. Bless you Mercury! 🙂

Now through September 27th we consolidate that which we have observed and put considerations to and begin to move toward externally expressing our revised Mercury-Virgo directives(ie. health care, daily routines, communications). Being that this retrograde followed Saturn’s 2 1/2 year transit of Virgo, which taught us new ways of utilizing our Virgo sectors and attributes, the benefits coming from this period should be quite apparent as we move through the remainder of September. This will be especially true for anyone that has a personal planet within the degree’s of retrograde span either in Virgo, Gemini, Sagittarius or Pisces. Continue Reading »
