The Sun is preparing to join the current T-square of Saturn, Pluto, Uranus and Jupiter and on June 15th until June 30th we will be 
experiencing our next Grand Cross of the 2010 season.
Mercury is moving quickly now and will join the Grand Cross a few days after it forms. During the Grand Cross formation, the Sun and Mercury will have their Superior Conjunction, an important aspect in relation to the previous Mercury retrograde period.
This 2 week period also contains other significant events with the Summer Solstice arriving on June 21st and the Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Capricorn on June 26th.
These coming weeks are sizzling with energy and many will be feeling pressured to make adjustments and new choices in many different life area’s. Late mutable and early cardinal placements are feeling this most intensely; as has been true for some time now.
This post is a closer examination of the Grand Cross itself and notes important dates of this period as well as when the Moon will jazz it up even more. The Solstice, upcoming Capricorn Eclipse and Superior conjunction of the Sun and Mercury will be further expanded upon in later posts over the next week.

The Major Players already in place for this June 2010 Grand Cross are: Saturn direct in late Virgo, Pluto retrograde in early Capricorn, Uranus and Jupiter newly in Aries.
A quick look at element emphasis for this period:
From June 16th-20th we only have one body, Chiron, in Water. Over this span there are 3 bodies in Fire, 3 in Air (including Mercury in his sign of rulership) and 3 in Earth. The Moon does not journey through a Water Sign during this period therefore will not lend to the deficient Water element. These days will be filled with much mental activity(especially with Mercury in Gemini!) and contain an abundance of energy for grounding endeavors/projects. Inspiration will be available for starting or expanding projects of substance. Light on emotion and depth, be cautious not to go against your heart’s wishes on these days in enacting anything that may not be in your best interest or the interest of those you love.
On June 21st the Sun enters Cancer and brings a greater emphasis to Water. The Moon will also be in Water (Scorpio) from the 21st until the 24th which too will bring more emotional energy forth. On June 25th Mercury enters Cancer and we now find an emphasis in Fire, Earth and Water with a deficiency present in Air (only Neptune in an Air Sign). The 28th of June the Moon enters Aquarius, an Air Sign, and adds more support to the Air Element. This span of days that we are light on Air (June 25th-27th) will not be the best days for mental pursuits so plan accordingly if you have fine details to address that require critical thinking skills and acuity.

June 15th> The Sun at 24° Gemini forms the next Grand Cross.
June 18th-19th> The Moon joins the Grand Cross and travels the Virgo/Libra zone. Comfortable? Not for most. Yet this will offer some stability nonetheless though if you like lot’s of emotion (and we are already light in that arena) this may be a bit of rain on your parade. No worries..it is brief!
June 21st> The Sun’s ingress of Cancer: Summer Solstice! Amazing chart for this Solstice! Will be posting a detailed interpretation very soon. 🙂
June 23rd> Mercury @ 24° Gemini joins the Grand Cross.
June 25th-26th> The Moon joins the Grand Cross zone in late Sagittarius and travels into early Capricorn joining Pluto. Deep clearings/release may be in order as well as past related events may come to the fore.
June 26th> Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Capricorn conjunct Pluto! Power packed is an understatement. 😉 Interpretation forthcoming in the next few days.
June 28th> The Superior conjunction of the Sun and Mercury. More to come in a later post.
June 30th> The Sun and Mercury are no longer in orb of Saturn and the Grand Cross begins to ebb though a few days remain until the Sun moves out of orb with Pluto, Uranus and Jupiter.

I’ve already set the solar return – it’s powerpacked – an 8th house Sun and a Scorpio Ascendant. Following on the heels of a full moon eclipse on Pluto, that’s a bit too much action for me!
Need to go set the Venus return as well.
Not allowing the energy to master me is a great piece of advice. If I can hold steady I’ll be delighted!

Just done the Venus return, it’s on 23rd June (Venus at 10 Leo – not exactly mid ..) and Venus is unaspected by planets, but is conjunct the ascendant by 2 degrees (in the 12th). Venus rising in a Venus return? I like that! 4th house Moon in Scorpio (how did I guess?) The ascendant of the Venus return falls in my natal 4th too.
Thinking about it … Mercury return coming up too … that one also has an 8th house Sun (and Mercury) and a Scorpio Ascendant. Not to mention a Moon/Mars conjunction in Mercury-ruled Virgo.
It all seems very intense to me …!

Yes, intense. Yet you are getting an opportunity to dig in and accomplish in this next year so much more than you maybe would have over many, many years without that 8th house push. 🙂
I’d consider having a point of focus/anchor this next year though. Something(s) that you are committed to doing each day that will serve to give you stability should you find you have an intensive amount of reworking to do. If you choose a physical activity to engage in daily it will help tremendously to move any energies you bring up for release during this time.

Thank you Kachina that’s fantastic advice. I’d looked at the returns, thought “scary” and wondered what to do next! I’m intending to take up oil painting again – I can use up a lot of energy doing that, and I can paint emotions out. I just need to be prepared not to judge what DOES come out, and just accept it as part of the process.
Painting really does work for my Venus in Leo too – it’s creative!

Thanks Kachina, Sharp, relevant and accessible piece as usual. Enjoying the respite of Moon and Venus these few days. Picking pounds of strawberries and digging the first new potatoes. Wish all of you were here and I could provide your lunch in the sun! Home – different story! Cooker and TV have both broken down in the last two weeks and had to be replaced out of non-existent funds. (Grand Cross impacting on 2nd and 4th). Could be setting up camp in the garden yet! (Not really an option) Hope you are continuing to ride this wave with style and panache!

Hi Kachina, I have solar return coming up on 3 July and looked at my solar return chart see Sun and Mercury in 10th. Interesting prospects/oppurtunities to come. Will have jupiter, uranus and moon all conjunct in my solar 7th house. Am i right to feel excited about this set up? Got a good feeling about it.
Also interesting for me i think is that transiting pluto is currently conjunct my natal south node, opposed my north node and will be moving back and forth over them for some time to come. This takes place in my natal 5th house. Intense times ahead? Transiting south node now opposite my natal sun.

With Jupiter/Uranus/Moon 7th: beneficial, sudden partnerships with women and/or past contacts. Aries 7th: Self-starters and pioneering individuals. Also, the 10th Sun can also signify a change in residence/location and is given extra merit I feel as it is within Cancer(home).
Pluto on the SN and opposing NN: are you feeling pushed out of your comfort zones? lol I should think you are. Sounds as if you enjoy change though and are taking it in stride.
A focus on angular houses brings a lot of activity, new projects, relationships. Yes, be excited and be ready to be movin’-and-shakin’ it this year! 🙂
