Uranus turns retrograde on July 5th, 2010 @ 0°35′ Aries.
Retrograde Uranus will remain at Aries Point until August 14th then backtrack into Pisces where direct station occurs on December 5th @ 26°40′ Pisces. On March 11th, 2011 Uranus reenters Aries and remains in the Sign of the Ram until 2019.
We are now at the end of our Uranus in Pisces experience and Uranus will not be revisiting Pisces for another 84 years.
Uranus first covered the degree’s of this retrograde phase in direct motion between March 19th and July 5th, 2010. This period was one of heightened activity due to Uranus being in the completion stages of a seven-year residency within Pisces and also due to the ongoing opposition with Saturn(which only occurs every 28+ years). Not to be overlooked has also been Uranus’s role in the continuing T-Squares and Grand Crosses of 2010.
These powerful configurations, in which Uranus has been a participant, have been changing our existence by catalyzing us to release outgrown forms and ways of Being while placing us within new forms and archetypes that are a better suited and more productive platform to preform effectively within the current climate of Humanities evolution.
Due to Uranus (and Jupiter!) straddling Pisces and Aries, this upcoming period will be a time of continuing major completions, even while new forms and ways continue to come forth.
The activity of the many past months has been one of seeming instability for we truly have been rocking between the extremes of old and new (saturn-uranus), responsibility and freedom(saturn-uranus) and endings and beginnings(pisces-aries) in both literal and archetypal forms.
While much has been wrapped up in our individual lives in relation to Uranus/Pisces and their relevance within our personal charts we will have one last sweep of Pisces and possibly more completions to attend to from late August of this year until March of 2011 as Uranus finishes his Piscean journey.
************
Retrogrades are a time of review, a period during which the energies related to the retrograde planet are inner directed and afford us a different perspective on that which has unfolded previously during the direct motion of said retrograde planet.
Uranus is the wild-card planet and is represented by keywords such as sudden, unexpected, lightening-bolt and awakening while Aries, a fire sign, is the space of new beginnings and individuality. When Uranus and Aries unite the wild-card planet can very much behave as the wild-child!
With a capacity to demonstrate as willful, rebellious, ostentatious and impetuous the combination of Uranus-Aries is not necessarily comfortable for those that prefer stability through repetition and ‘proper’ demeanor and yet it is exactly these ‘wild and free’ energies that breath new life and excitement into our existence and prevent stagnation.
This is evolution, for without the energies of Aries following after Pisces, we truly would meet The End. Yet in the wondrous Multi-Verse in which we exist there is NO END; merely cycles of endings and beginnings that spiral into ever-expanding levels of Being.
************
While Uranus remains in Aries the qualities described in the preceding paragraph are being directed within. These next weeks may be trying for some if they do not allow these inner-directed Uranian energies a proper channel for expression. Trying to stifle these energies is fool-hardy as is allowing them to rampantly dominate one’s actions.
Saturn in opposition to Uranus shall continue to lend assistance in stabilizing our inner Uranian energy provided we honor the role of Saturn and do not polarize with Uranus and go full-out wild-child. 🙂
These next weeks offer us the opportunity for any inner revamping necessary to align one’s self to the external manifestations that will be a part of our lives long-term when Uranus reenters Aries next spring (though as early as January of 2011 when Jupiter reenters Aries will find us taking our first steps back into this territory in very real ways).
Since the last week of May we have had a sneak peak of our forthcoming new endeavors and initiatives related to Aries and Uranus. Reflection and assessment now on what has been recently appearing anew in your life will better enable you to either get comfortable with your “new” future that is no longer all that distant and/or to tweak anything that you feel is in need of adjustment.
Uranus while in retrograde can also catalyze spontaneous awakenings. These weeks may see an increase in awakenings in self and others and it is good to remember that those experiencing a consciousness leap can often demonstrate seemingly odd behaviors and express unusual perceptions. This is quite normal in the ‘land of awakenings’ and is best met with tolerance, patience and non-interference as much as is possible for this allows the other to integrate with much more ease than if they are met with disapproval in any form.
************
When Uranus resumes residency within Pisces from mid-August until mid-March we will have a period of more endings and completions to contend with.
The sneak peak we have been having during this time that Uranus is at Aries Point has been showing us what we can expect to be living by March of 2011 and will likely necessitate more completions of anything that cannot continue to be a part of our experience as we step fully into our new situations/conditions next Spring.
The next weeks that Uranus remains stationed at Aries Point will make it quite clear as to what will not jive with where we are headed to the beginning of next year. There will be much clarity provided on what will and won’t fit harmonically into our new lifestyles when Saturn reenters Libra the last week of July and the 5th and final meeting of the Uranus-Saturn opposition occurs for this cycle.
~~~~~~~~~~
Enjoy the power of Uranus to rock you out of that which has become stagnant yet be cautious to not be so rebellious as to discard anything that is still of merit!
Hi Kachina,
Wonderful article as always! You always give me lots to think about.
All this upcoming newness is very exciting to me. This will be the first time any outer planet transits through my 7th House (Descendant at 1 deg Aries). It’s a good thing Saturn will be crossing my 1st House grounds over Asc, Mercury and Venus for at least a couple of years. Maybe that will be enough to keep me from running off to Vegas with some wild-and-crazy man I meet out socially (5th House Aqua, 11th House natal Uranus in Leo). LOL
The last decade I’ve put a stop to being a work-aholic to make room in my life for a “real” relationship balanced with less stressful work.
The current planetary positions have me questioning whether or not the whole “institution” of marriage is really for me after being self-sufficient for the last 33 years (too many 12th House Virgo positions perhaps). Maybe I’ll just become a Cougar. LOL Naw, Saturn in Capricorn won’t let me got that far. 🙂
Whatever comes with Uranus in Aries won’t be boring!
Thank you again. You ARE a blessing!
Back in 1990 I married during Saturn, Uranus and Neptune’s visit to my 7th house. True to form these three heralded a 15 year marriage that contained some of the best, and much of the worst, of what they represent..yet I was only 21 and still very naive on the dynamics of projections. 😉
My second daughter was born a year later with Saturn exiting my 7th and she was definitely the finest fruit of the union and a most valuable departing gift from Saturn!
Saturn in Libra is going to help us get clear on those ‘commitment or no’ scenarios and I am looking forward to it. I am completely in middle land right now where relationships are concerned and with Pluto going back and forth over my DESC I really have no idea which way I am heading in the future…to the alter or to the hills??
I think a get away with wild-and-crazy sounds quite inviting..and I don’t think I’d turn down Vegas either and if you’d worry on having too much bubbly and ending up at a chapel..I’d just pin a note to my bra that says..”prohibited to enter wedding chapels by decree of myself, if any should disregard this decree, see the note pinned to my panties(for you’ll soon be meeting with my attorney listed on said note)”. Yep, that should cover it. 😉
You’re right..Uranus in Aries will most definitely NOT be boring!
Hi
I have been trying to decipher the meaning of the fool tarot card, the image posted along with your very interesting and informative article.
Most information, posted online is contradictory with some articles stating that the card symbolizes new beginnings and other stating that it indicates folly due to moving forward sans lack of planning and vision – moving forward with blind faith.
It would be great if you could clarify the interpretation of the fool card and its relevance to your article.
I enjoy all your articles.. informative, easy to understand and written with so much humour.
Thanks,
Hi DWN,
I view the Fool, the number 0, in relation to Uranus at Aries Point as the space between spaces…it is neither fully the end nor the beginning, a space between breaths where we glimpse and know something we have no recognition of experiencing before.
Since Uranus takes 84 years to travel the zodiac wheel I think it is safe to say most of us have never been here before..least not in this current experience. 🙂
Aries, is where we bring to bring to form(create) that which was of the primordial soup and without form within Pisces. Yet how we do that is exactly is what so many mystics, masters, guru’s and meta-physicians have striven eternally to package into words that convey what that IS. Not sure it can be done..maybe it must be felt and experienced by the individual to be of meaning, to ignite KNOWING.
Uranus is the sudden, unexpected, electric-vibration-pulse-circuity-energy, the great Awakener showing us that which we have never known before.
As for the many interpretations you have seen of the Fool card I would say any and all of them are likely of merit dependent upon the presentation of the other cards in the spread.
No one planet acts in and of itself, as does no other symbol of energy, there are checks and balances throughout the whole as no-thing is truly it’s own, individual force. Everything is interconnected and applies influence to all else, to a greater or lesser degree, dependent on many factors.
As for right now, Uranus-the Fool are being anchored by Saturn and offering a grounding rod to keep us from jumping off any cliffs without looking first. 🙂 By the time Saturn eases up his opposition, we’ll have a bit more experience under our belts and we’ll be ready as we’ll ever be to open it up full throttle and be a bit more carefree with Uranus in Aries.
Hope you’ll stop by again and share some more with us! Blessings~xxx
