Mercury turns retrograde @ 19° Virgo on August 20th with direct station occurring at 5° Virgo on September 13th. Mercury will exit the shadow of retrograde on September 28th bringing conclusion to the retrograde period.

This is the 3rd Mercury retrograde occurring within an Earth sign, the previous 2 were within Capricorn and Taurus, and we are continuing to adjust our perceptions and communications to align with the physical and material world. Within Virgo the focus is upon health, everyday routines and effective communication. With Virgo recently being reworked by Saturn this retrograde will assist in tidying up loose ends and bringing clarity to what Saturn in Virgo initiated us to on an individual level. Uranus has reentered Pisces in retrograde motion and will continue retracing Piscean ground in reverse motion until direct station occurs on December 5th, 2010 @ 26°40′ Pisces. Between now and the beginning of December we will be reevaluating that which we first experienced this past spring from late March through late May.

As of direct motion on December 5th we will be ready to integrate and finalize anything yet needing to be attended over the winter months. Come March 11th of 2011, we will be graduating from our Pisces-Uranus cycle, which will not be reoccurring for most of us in this lifetime for the next cycle will not occur for another 84 years.

With this reentry of Pisces by Uranus we once again have mutual reception occurring between Uranus and Neptune in Aquarius. The mutual reception of these two planets over the past 7 years has catalyzed awakenings for many that has brought about necessary completions to many area’s of life to allow for a new direction and way of Being to occur. The New Moon @ 17°25′  Leo occurs on August 9th, 2010 at 11:09 pm EST and on August 10th at 3:09 am UT.

Leo as the fifth sign of the zodiac is the space of all things personally pleasurable. By the time we enter Leo we have brought forth a new individual form(aries), added the stability necessary to sustain this form in the physical world(taurus), explored our capacity for communication and learning(gemini) and found security within our home/tribe/family(cancer).

After attending our most basic survival needs we come to Leo with the desire to enrich our existence by adding experiences that satisfy our needs for self-demonstration and pure pleasure. Here we strive through creative forms to shine as an individual in some manner.

Leo is a heart-centered energy and is therefore related to our children(literal and figurative), our romantic liaisons and all things that open our hearts and bring us great satisfaction; these are the situations and people that ignite our essence and fuel our desires to be the most honorable and loving that we can possibly be.

The Full Moon occurs on July 25th, 2010 @ 3° Aquarius-Leo at 9:37 pm EST and on the 26th at 1:37 am UT.

This lunation not only shares beneficial aspects with the Cardinal T-square yet also forms a Mystic Rectangle so should prove to be productive in many area’s of our lives. Add to this the Sun’s role as the final dispositor of all planets in this lunation and we have the conditions present to utilize our luminosity to harmonize previously discordant area’s.

A quick review of the Aquarius/Leo axis shows Leo to be concerned with creative self-expression and the transcending of lower ego desires to demonstrate our personal expertise in some area while exhibiting confidence, strength and the generosity of good-will while Aquarius is where we bring to the collective the fruits of our personal expressions in a form that is uniquely innovative and future oriented to further the well-being of the Whole.

Saturn returns to Libra on July 21st, 2010 and shall remain in Libra until October of 2012.

We had a sneak peek of what Saturn transiting Libra has in store for us when Saturn briefly visited this sign late October of 2009 until early April of this year. Libra is Saturn’s sign of exaltation and seeks to bring relationships into proper structure through the balancing of two forces/energies that allows for a harmonic existence and functioning of the two previously individual energies.

Libra is the 7th sign of the natural Zodiac and therefore is the 1st sign of relationship. The first 6 signs, Aries through Virgo, are the space in which we come to know and develop the Self. The last 6 signs, Libra through Pisces, are the space in which we come to know that which is ‘external’ to one’s Self and develop comprehension of the “We” principle and eventually expand into the One Self.

Saturn has occupied the first 6 signs of the natural zodiac since 1994 so this shift into the 7th sign of Libra is quite significant as we steer our focus from Self to Other. A wonderful treat for those of us that have worked and reworked ourselves these past many years and are craving new lessons and directions that are less self-involved.

Our first step into harmonic relationship occurs within Libra and is where we seek compatibility through compromise while adjusting our boundaries to better suit our quest for right relationship. For some this shall mean an establishing of better defined boundaries while others will look to soften overly rigid ‘rules of engagement’. 🙂 As we have had a few months previous to now of experiencing Saturn in Libra you likely have some idea as to which application applies for you though it is quite possible to be working both ends by shoring up some boundaries while relaxing others of any that are no longer serving you in a beneficial manner.

The New Moon Solar Eclipse occurs on July 11th, 2010 @ 3:41 pm EST @ 19°24′ Cancer.

This is a total solar eclipse and for those that are interested in the specifics regarding path of totality, duration etc. detailed information can be found at NASA-Total Solar Eclipse of 2010 July.

Solar eclipses are supercharged New Moons and bring about completions to a way of Being that allows for new ways to come forth. Endings can occur in a myriad of forms dependent on your individual relationship to the Eclipse as reflected within your personal chart.

In my previous post on the recent Lunar Eclipse in Capricorn I shared my personal view of Eclipses. Following is a brief excerpt from that post:

My view of eclipses is that they function as course correctors. Where eclipses occur in our chart is where that which is no longer productive for our growth and viability may come to an abrupt conclusion or be suddenly altered to allow for a new course to occur. Though eclipses often do usher in extremes of experience there is no need to fear them if you embrace that what is leaving your life or being altered in some form was not in your best interest any longer and/or has simply run it’s course.

This current lunation-eclipse is following a pattern that has been prevalent for all of this year where the New Moon occurs after the Full Moon in the same sign. This is a reversal of the typical pattern of Full and New Moons and has brought to the forefront the culminations associated with Full Moons before we are able to set new intentions and sow seeds at the following New Moon. Robert Wilkinson at Aquarius Papers explains this phenomena in more depth in his articles related to the Moons and Eclipses. If you have yet to visit Aquarius Papers, Robert offers a wealth of information that appeals to a wide range of astrology students and practitioners.

Uranus turns retrograde on July 5th, 2010 @ 0°35′ Aries.

Retrograde Uranus will remain at Aries Point until August 14th then backtrack into Pisces where direct station occurs on December 5th @ 26°40′ Pisces. On March 11th, 2011 Uranus reenters Aries and remains in the Sign of the Ram until 2019.

We are now at the end of our Uranus in Pisces experience and Uranus will not be revisiting Pisces for another 84 years.

Uranus first covered the degree’s of this retrograde phase in direct motion between March 19th and July 5th, 2010. This period was one of heightened activity due to Uranus being in the completion stages of a seven-year residency within Pisces and also due to the ongoing opposition with Saturn(which only occurs every 28+ years). Not to be overlooked has also been Uranus’s role in the continuing T-Squares and Grand Crosses of 2010.

These powerful configurations, in which Uranus has been a participant, have been changing our existence by catalyzing us to release outgrown forms and ways of Being while placing us within new forms and archetypes that are a better suited and more productive platform to preform effectively within the current climate of Humanities evolution.

Due to Uranus (and Jupiter!) straddling Pisces and Aries, this upcoming period will be a time of continuing major completions, even while new forms and ways continue to come forth.

The activity of the many past months has been one of seeming instability for we truly have been rocking between the extremes of old and new (saturn-uranus), responsibility and freedom(saturn-uranus) and endings and beginnings(pisces-aries) in both literal and archetypal forms.

While much has been wrapped up in our individual lives in relation to Uranus/Pisces and their relevance within our personal charts we will have one last sweep of Pisces and possibly more completions to attend to from late August of this year until March of 2011 as Uranus finishes his Piscean journey.

The Full Moon Lunar Eclipse occurs on June 26th, 2010 @ 4°46′ Capricorn/Cancer at 7:30 am EST, 11:30 am UT.

While this is a partial lunar eclipse this will be a significant event due to the powerful formations of the heavens at this time.

Eclipses began their shift to the Cancer-Capricorn axis during July of 2009 and this is our 3rd and last Lunar Eclipse occurring on this axis. The next 3 eclipses that complete the Cancer-Capricorn Eclipse cycle are all Solar Eclipses.

I share my viewpoint for many seem to fear eclipses and I feel it is due to an underlying fear of separation from those that they love, or forms of being they feel attached to, no matter if those relationships or attachments have become detrimental for the person(s) involved.

In regards to relationships: while they can appear within the experience of physicality to have a “beginning and an end” we are truly never separate from those whom we love, for while our relationships change and take many different forms during our experience upon this plane, “beginnings and endings” do not truly exist in the absolutist manner in which we sometimes tend to perceive them for “Every Thing IS Interrelated, Always,  and in All Ways”.

My mentioning of this is not to imply that everyone will have an event occur due to this or any other eclipse that will bring about the “separation” from someone(s) close to them for that is highly dependent upon individual situations.  I shared my perspective to encourage those that may fear eclipses to try a new viewpoint that may bring a new understanding of the eclipse dynamics and their nature therefore allowing them more ease with any developments that may occur for them personally. Eclipses are not evil after all, they simply serve the function of bringing about necessary adjustments that we were unable or unwilling to preform for ourselves for any myriad of reasons.

The Sun’s ingress of Cancer, Summer Solstice, occurs on June 21st, 2010 @ 7:29 am EST, 11:29 am UT.

Since Jupiter and Uranus joined in Aries a few short weeks ago the energy has picked up substantially and the hours of the day feel much shorter. Have you felt it too??

Yet while the feeling of time speeding up and the rush-rush of everyday moments has been apparent, at the end of the day it has been difficult to quantify where all of our energy has been utilized, for there hasn’t been a lot manifesting externally to show for all of our busy-busy-business!

Thank goodness Solstice is upon us for with the Summer Solstice we begin to bring form, to bring to substance, that which we sowed at the Spring Equinox.

The Solstice chart this year is one seriously ROCKING chart! 🙂

This chart has the amazing potential to not only continue break up old patterns yet also to firmly anchor and bring very tangible substance to that which we have been diligently working towards these past months (and much longer in some area’s)! The real trick here is going to be in nurturing those manifestations; feeding, watering and pruning these new life forms so that they do not wilt and die-off as quickly as they were born.
